Canada Day Takes Us Back to Alberta - High Level Alberta

We spent Canada day on the road from Yellowknife to High Level.  I think that they had made some progress on the construction on the 100 km section from the Frank Channel to YK - plus I think we had gotten used to it - so the drive was just fine. Ontario HW 17 just past Dryden still holds the worst road in the country award.

But - using the visor of my helmet as the primary measurement device - the area between Fort Providence and Enterprise easily wins the most bug dense award.

When we got to High Level - I gave the bike a quick wash - and added the NWT sticker. Some of the early stickers are getting pretty tattered. Oh Well - it is what is is.

At Last! The traditional bike trip picture of guys hanging around a parking lot eating beef jerky. All bike trips must include at least one such picture. It's  rule, I don't make the rules, it just is.

Why a picture of a bunch of AAA Alberta Beef Rib Remnants? Well, two reasons really. First, they were delicious and what better way to celebrate a return to Alberta that with a delicious beef dinner. Second, some of you may have noticed that I usually post in the evening - and this post is in the morning. While waiting for the beef ribs to be prepared, several extra beers were consumed. This meant that before the end of the 1st Quarter of the Saskatchewan -  Winnipeg game - I was out like a light. Thus - this picture serves to explain the tardy post.

So - that covers Canada Day! Off we go for Dawson Creek and Mile Zero - and then on up the Alaska Highway a ways!
