As West as You Can Get - Anchorage to Anchor Point - Bonus Points for Doing Homer as Well

Had this all written yesterday Monday 2017-07-17 - and then the internet went down! So - posting this evening from Beaver Creek. Look for a separate update on that leg of the trip - from Anchorage to here!

OK - so I am about to say the same thing for the 3rd day in a row - you gotta drive this road - the drive from Anchorage to Homer and back is unbelievable. You have to see it in person. The pictures do not do it justice.

Some videos which I think give you a decent feel:

Turnagain Arm

Turnagain Pass

Bishops Beach

Anchor Point Boat Launch

A handful of pictures to spice that up

Beluga Point on the Turnagain Arm

The Turnagain Arm Near Alyeska

The Turnagain Arm Near Portage

Looking Down at Homer

On the beach at Bishop's Beach - Longitude=151° 32' 31.8"W

 Anchor Point Boat Launch - Latitude = 15° 52' 1.52" W

So - Anchor Point - the furthest west you can get! Back to the hotel - after a fantastic ride back - just as pretty in both directions! Celebrated with a good cigar! So - that is it for going west. Tomorrow- back to Canada. The next day - if we can catch a weather break - we hope to do a flight over Mount Logan from Haines Junction. Then, Whitehorse for some scheduled maintenance - and then back to Watson Lake and south we go down the Highway-37 - The Stewart - Cassiar Highway.

PS - a few drizzles of rain - but nothing to complain about - still - I am forced to mention - when I am on the bike  - it does seem to rain!

Peace Baby, look for the Beaver Creek update shortly!
