Stanley Park, Powell Street Festival, Sunset Beach

We started the day with a really nice walk around Stanley Park. When I have been to Stanley Park before - mostly stuck to the shore line. We did that - but also ventured into the heavily treed interior of the park which was also fantastic.

Then - off to Gastown for a walkabout and some lunch! Cool steam operated clock caught my eye

Then - over the to Powell Street Festival where we saw a very moving play about a Japanese Grandmother talking to her daughter about her deceased Grandfather and the fact that he loved another woman! It is call "Neon ね音" - and the link  goes to some info I found on the web. Wow - this was a great story - really moving. Set at the end of World War 2. The fact that today is Hiroshima Day really brought the story home to see. Haley will send me some info - and I will update this blog post to contain some more info.

[[edit - 2017-08-07 ]] - Thanks to Haley for the link to the ODE Movements Society page with info about the cast we saw and the link to the Storyhive page.

Got to see a sumo wrestling demo

Got this great picture on Sunset Beach.

Not sure exactly what the plans are tomorrow - will let you know when I know!
